Strangeland is the fourth studio album by English band Keane, and takes its inspiration from the south coast resort of Bexhill-on-Sea near Battle where the band grew up. Released by Island Records in May 2012, it became their fifth consecutive album to reach number one in the UK albums chart.
Design and Art Direction featured an abstract early morning shot of the seafront at Bexhill on the south coast. It makes reference to the single, Sovereign Light Café, which pays homage to this establishment on Bexhill Parade. The LP Gatefold format won an award in the 2012 Art Vinyl Awards at the St. Martin’s Lane Hotel in Covent Garden. A super-deluxe CD hardback book, LP Gatefold and CD was created for the album campaign.
